This message is from Big Al: "Not bad...but I think it would be a little better if you could condense it down... to three minutes or something :) "

From DairyQueen to Hunin and Digg: My second first - I've listened to the podcast. And no, Hunin, I still don't have the "Interweb." Or a phone.

Oh that Big Al, barrel of yucks, he's full of horse radish!

Thanks for joining and not commenting on the technical inadequacies of the recording - like everyone else has.

Aside from the technical issues, I found the discussion pretty good to program to. I would turn in and out, but that is normal when I am working. I found most of the discussion compelling, but I usually find Digg compelling.

Was that a FATE pun?

Yeah we do prattle on. This next on IK'm taking a strong hand in the direction.

I've been playing with Audacity and have Lucased Dominion Cast 2(remastered the original piece for the sake of my own vanity ). Cleaned up the hiss, boosted in some parts (Anne), cut the fat, and added some audio flavor.

Let me know what you think - as though I had to ask.

The hiss is much improved, but the voices seem to have lost some of their sharpness.

(GI Joe? Really?)

From Phil- You read the definition of "satire", and then debate it for five minutes? Why bother with the definition if you're going to debate it anyway?
By 5 minutes, I'm tired of the words "homage", "satire", and "spoof".

Yeah part of the hiss elimination was losing the sharpness of the voices to the equalizer. A trade off had to be made and the addition of background music will further mask it and in general make things less drab.

GI Joe: we were talking about political things and we're 80's kids ... so ... that.

The debate was further defining the satire concept for the audience, contrasting to homage and spoof spelled out the differences.

Now if you dont really care for these differences, and their effect of media reporting in our culture nor the subtext it gives the entertainment we view, then you've got a pretty simplistic eye and taste.

The Dominion is more discriminating.

So this was much better than the first Podcast, but I can relate to the subject matter a lot more. I haven't done any Role Playing in years....it's too bad that the eCircles game fell off the face of the Earth.

This podcast on the whole struck me as a conversation we would have had at The Java Hut back when it was still open (moment of silence). It was a typical conversation with the crew - a very witty, intelligent conversation about a lot of different topics.

The audio was still a bit in-and-out at times, but nothing to really fret about.

And yes, trends of overall style in our society have, IMO, eroded since we were kids. I would never dream of walking out of the house in pajamas, unless it was for some specific thing - wasn't there a Pajama Day during Spirit Week or somesuch?

But yeah, a good listen. I'll try and listen to parts 3 and 4 tomorrow. When/where do you guys record these?

Cast 2 was in a study room of the Southfield library. Whenever we can we record at Manifold Media studios (Rib's basement). Other times it's a single omni-directional mic on Ron's laptop and a LOT of tweaking with Audacity.

when are you going to be back in town? Did you check out the one on the player or the download link?

I used the player to listen. If I get time at work, I'll check out Cast 3.

I'm in town from Thursday evening, 9/25 - Sunday evening, 9/28, which will be spent mostly doing reunion stuff. I might get into town a day earlier though. How's that week looking for you?
