Is it just me or does it seem that ever since Family Guy became a threat to the simpsons they've lost there originality trying to keep up with Family Guy? It seems that they go for the 1 liners now more than ever, its damn near all they have now, that and the endless catch-phrases and repetion (that they've done a great job on keeping fresh). It may have to do with being a hit solo show for almost 19 years, and existing for 21 years, I guess its hard to stay fresh. Its not like the new jokes arent funny, but they feel expected. I don't think their development is so much from Family Guy being a threat as it is a necessity of staying fresh. In a way, it's circularly fair that The Simpsons is borrowing from shows it has in part inspired.
The teenagers they used to entertain are now raising teenagers. They must adapt to entertain this second generation - your generation Jarryl.
