Thanks to the link for the stats -- they pretty much reflect what I've been hearing. Minutes after the last debate, CNN had a poll showing McCain losing favorability, with Obama gaining. I've also been reading that Palin is driving away just as many as she's brought in (there are a lot of Obamacans this cycle). McCain's just been so nasty lately, I think it even turns off most of the reasonable people in his base...Seriously, who gives a *#$% about Ayers and whatever else when there are important things to worry about.
Also, it would seem that McCain's campaign from day one has been a series of tactics without a strategy (ironic, eh?). I doubt most people are single-issue voters these days, and an overall theme for a campaign helps them "plug into" what the candidate is about, makes it harder for them to defect. Flailing around from tactic to tactic makes McCain look unfocused, erratic, and desperate. Not what people want to see in a president.
Oh darlin' H., I DO believe that the last debate went well for Barack -- not so much because of what he said as because of his composure and because of the ass the old man made out of himself with the sighs, smug smirks (peter piper picked a peck...), and OMG will the man PLEASE stop blinking?!?!. Women's health is NOT an issue to speak about in "air quotes." The Jezzies are FURIOUS, and I personally think that any woman who would still vote for McCain/Palin doesn't deserve to keep her ovaries.
As for Joe the Plumber, he hasn't paid his taxes, is likely a Republican plant (www.gawker.com -- link @ my FB page), and it is questionable that he could buy the damn business in the first place.
And hey, is LD always so nasty to new members? I can cancel my membership if my presence is unwelcome... ; p
