Saw Watchmen.
Wow. Well.
First, I am absolutely baffled by the reviews of this film. It seems people are falling into one of three categories:
1. Complete adoration: This was the greatest comic book movie of all time. It was perhaps the most faithful adaptation in the history of cinema. This was the easily the best movie ever. And Rorshach was awesome.
2. It was pretty good: Seen better, seen worse. In all, it was a good action flick with highbrow aspirations. There were proble… Continue

So, I just watched Max Payne, yesterday.... Let me just say that it wasn't horrible, like I was expecting. It incorporated almost every main event in the video game. I like synchronization and the movie did that pretty well.
What I havn't quite gotten, is why the winged demons? From what I hear, like the drugs name Valkyr, they are supposed to be Valkyrie. But, even in the movie it is explained that they are Angels of War. I know a little of Norse mythology and knew before the movie that Valkyr… Continue

I’ve recently come across a show that makes everything else almost seem like crap. This show is about 5 jackasses who run a bar in Philly and all of them have their own weird/psycho issues. Earlier I wanted to compare this show to the office, but I realized it’s impossible. The office’s main catches are Michael and Dwight. Personally the romance between Jim and Pam often is what makes IASIP better. As “sweet” as the Jim and Pam thing is, its not something that keeps me (and most men) hooked, its… Continue

I’m a huge fan of both Mo'Nique and Sharon Osborne. But what gives either one of those crazy people the right to tell women how to act? I know they both mean well but seriously?
Mo’Nique
I know the digg dose not like Mo’Nique at all, hell to the third power. But I LOVE Mo, she’s funny, I like the inspiration she gives to people, I like her radio show more than Baisden, but she is not at all qualified on showing psycho girls how to act, when she’s not particularly good at most of the things she… Continue
I think after another week of this I will have earned the right to slaughter someone.
"Or it means that a skilled poisoner acting alone set events in motion that villified you before a misguided populace." Exaulte pointed out, leaning back in his cushioned throne. "This 'conspiracy' could be more limited in scope than you fear."

"Tell me something, your highness... why are you asking me all of these questions, anyway? You're the strategist. I'll follow your orders even if they don't m… Continue

I can't get my head around anything nowdays. I missed last week. I've stalled on learning how to program, although maybe I can energize my brain enough to get back into that. I'd hate not to finish that particular project. Understanding makes me all warm and fuzzy.
I've got absolutely nothing today. Really goddamned distressing.
The name "Exaulte" is a placeholder.
"It's worse than we feared, my lor-!" She cursed as the page bandaging her hands slipped, tearing open some the burned flesh.… Continue
Sessia stared at Lilinara's rapidly retreating back.
"Valarin..." She shook her head. Without sparing her brother a second glance, she took off after her friend.
What a ridiculously girly sequence of events. That's going to be edited to death if I ever go back and edit.
Communion.

No, damn it. That's not working.
Crap. It's Friday! I'm not going to have anything up!
The damned ceremon… Continue

So I'm starting a story. And even if I finish it today, it's posting on 9/6/08. Cos I need to keep up with at least one a week, and if I can work ahead enough, it will get me through dry spells.
Of course, on the sixth, there may be just one sentance posted. Who knows?
Still thinking about world building. Not sure how to handle race, if at all. Do I need to become an anthropologist and figure out climates and cultures and clothing and appearances? I think I'll make the main setting as mixed ba… Continue
I'm wondering what the best approach would be to building the setting for these stories.
I'm inclined toward what I've seen Mr. Jerks use, topology>ocean currents>weather patterns>climates>trade routes>political evolution>etc. It makes sense, because everything is built on what comes before, but odds are, I'd quit while drawing the squiggly lines on the coast.
Maybe I can work from both ends and see if I can make it meet in the middle. Like how people build roads in Michigan… Continue
An attempt to get back on the bloody ball! Next on the list of shit I'm not good at- dialogue.
That'll be it for the forseeable future. Dialogue, scene setting, introspection, possibly snuggling. Shit that makes me want to get up and go watch a movie or something.
Yippee.
Lilinara flung another cushion onto the pile that was quickly taking over a corner of the room. The down-stuffed confection slid down the mountain of voluptuous disarray. Loose feathers and wisps of silk floated lazily… Continue

I smell like cheese.
Not that good cheese like the stuff I used to buy for my roll-playing parties from Eastern Market, no. I smell like that cheap cheese-food crap that Kraft sells as "American" cheese. I'm sure it has to do with my fast-food diet. Continue
I'm in York, Pennsylvania getting my trailer unloaded. It's raining.
This morning I heard a replay of Barak Obama's acceptance speech for the Democratic nomination to be President on the radio. I got all teary-eyed and choked up and inspired.
I'm in the process of debating how long I should do this job beyond my one-year contract because I'm very close to hating this job. The actual physical work isn't bad at all. In fact its easy if a bit boring at times. My growing hate is due more to my att… Continue
